ATOOC Fly By: FexEx vs. Southwest in ATX

Earlier this month, at Austin International airport, a FedEx aircraft narrowly avoided a Southwest plane as it attempted to land. Controllers had cleared the arriving FedEx seven sixty seven and a departing Southwest Airlines seven thirty seven jet to use the same runway, and the FedEx crew realized the issue before it became a disaster. The FedEx pilot then told the Southwest crew to abort taking off, then climbed as its crew aborted their landing to help avoid a collision.
