John is a man in his mid-30's who has only ever been with sex workers, and he has complicated feelings about it: on the one hand, keeping sexual intimacy transactional is much simpler for him - it takes a lot of the work out of people-ing, something that is especially draining for him because he has Aspberger Syndrome. On the other hand, the illegality of being a John has led him to some pretty dark and dangerous places. We talk about his first time, the mental health and trauma struggles that keep him from trying to establish more traditional relationships, and how criminalization makes getting one's needs met more dangerous and damaging for all parties involved.
