'Government “dragging its heels” on racial equality'

The outgoing chair of the Equality and Human Rights Council, David Isaacs, told Sima Kotecha he believes the government is "dragging its heels" over tackling racial inequality and questioned why it is setting up a new review on racial disparity, rather than implementing existing recommendations. Mishal Husain spoke to Kemi Badenoch, the equalities minister and exchequer secretary to the Treasury, who described his comments as "disappointing". She went on to say "there is so much that has been done all the way back to Macpherson" and "one of the things this commission is doing, is actually looking at why is it, that despite all of these actions, people still believe that we are doing nothing?"
