ep. 38: Saturday Church Review

Hey CineLovers! Welcome and welcome back to CineJunkiePod! This week, we are honoring Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance! We reviewed Saturday Church with writer/director Damon Cardasis, featuring Luka Kan, Alexia Garcia, Indya Moore, and Mj Rodriguez. This is a beautiful and uplifting film that focuses on self-acceptance, challenging gender norms, and family. It is more important more than ever to support our trans family, and bring awareness and education to ourselves and others. This is a moving and important film that we highly recommend! As we look back on 2020, there have already been 37 transgender or gender non-conforming deaths this year (according to hrc.org). Take the time to make yourself aware, donate, and talk to your friends and family about transgender awareness. Trans rights are human rights.  Trans Awareness Resources: HRC.ORG / GLAAD.ORG / HOPKINSMEDICINE.ORG Social Media Accounts: @therealalexandrabillings / @sexworkhistory  How are you getting involved with Transgender Awareness and Transgender Remembrance?
