Big Sister Hotline: Episode 42, Feat. NEVO ZISIN

I was so pleased to welcome someone I admire enormously and am also proud to call friend onto the Hotline this week. NEVO ZISIN is a non-binary, Jewish queer writer who has authored two books (Finding Nevo and the forthcoming The Pronoun Lowdown). They facilitate educational workshops educating workplaces and organisations about gender and trans inclusivity, and we talked at length about how cis people can be allies not just in action but also thinking and language usage. This was such an illuminating and generous conversation, and I’m grateful to Nevo for taking the time to share these views. From Little Sisters, we answered questions about how to deal with bigotry and intolerance in your family members (important ahead of seasonal celebrations!); how to extricate yourself from toxic friendships; and how to balance the privacy of your loved ones when your work and politics are very public.Follow Nevo here:Instagram: @nevozisin Buy Nevo’s books here: https://www.booktopia.com.au/finding-nevo-nevo-zisin/book/9781925381184.htmlFeedback/Question submission: bigsisterhotline@gmail.comPatreon: www.patreon.com/clementinefordInstagram: www.instragram.com/clementine_ford****(And remember, if you like the show then please consider rating and reviewing it and subscribing!)
