Barry Lyndon (1975)

It’s ASSHOLES ON FILM month and should it be a surprise that a month full of main character assholes are also some very beloved and well regarded movies? We finally catch up to watching one of Lord Stanley’s films and it also happens be Bob’s favorite of his movies. Those interested in such things are well aware and much has been said of it over the years. We discuss one of our favorite movie assholes ever in Stanley Kubrick’s 1975 masterpiece, “Barry Lyndon” starring Ryan O’Neal, Marisa Berenson, Leon Vitali and many more. How did the typical small town Irish boy find himself amongst the pomp of nobility and how did it all fall apart? Iconic shots, perfectly patient, revolutionary lighting, amazing costuming, art inspired and hilariously vacant in expression. Except for that one sniveling boy lord. What more can be said on it?
