Word that a Mr. Bingley, a single, rich gentleman is moving into the Netherfield mansion, and Mrs. Bennett is determined to get her husband to go and introduce himself. Mr. Bennett pretends to not be interested in doing that, but he secretly goes to meet him and surprises her. The Mrs. is eager to have Mr. Bingley meet one of her five daughters, with hopes that he will marry one if them. There is a big party where Bingley dances with Elizabeth, one of the daughters.
