In the many LinkedIn polls, I have conducted on the things that most frustrate the users on the platform, what takes the cake each and every time is the way that people are spamming and selling to their networks. This is a big pet peeve of mine as well, but there is a way to spot a sales pitch that is coming your way: 1. The generic "I'd like to add you to my professional network" note was added to a connection request. 2. An immediate 18-paragraph long drunk-a-log message sent after accepting a connection request. 3.
