Episode 156 – 06/06/2019 – Bruce Buffer

For their "season finale," the boys have a bumper episode, kicking off with some TV chat (04:00) and Joe's report from the World Series of Poker (09:20), where he played in the Big 50. Expect some questionable analysis, as Joe breaks down a hand he played/butchered on the first day of the event (13:35). There's an extended interview with this week's special guest: UFC announcer Bruce Buffer (20:30). The "Veteran Voice of the Octagon” talks about the two passions in his life – MMA and poker – and how we can expect to see him at more major tournaments in the future, including #EPTBarcelona. In the latest instalment of their occasional series looking back at classic poker movies, James and Joe have a retrospective review of Robert Altman's 'California Split' (49:40). And that's the subject of this week's 'Superfan vs Stapes' quiz (01:11:30), as Martin Nocedal from Illinois competes for some PokerStars merchandise. This show is now on an extended summer break, with the next episode of #PokerInTheEars due on Thursday 15th August 2019. In the meantime, please rate, review and subscribe to the podcast.

Om Podcasten

Every week, the hosts of PokerStars TV (James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton) bring you a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like being two regular folks on the international poker circuit. Told from the perspective of a cranky British dad (Hartigan) and an undateable American bachelor (Stapes), Poker in the Ears is a mostly uncensored take on the world of professional poker. The hosts also regularly call in favours, in the form of guest spots from their big-shot celebrity poker-playing friends. And they routinely hold on-air competitions, providing chances for listeners to join them on tour.
