Ali France topples Peter Dutton on third attempt

The Coalition's loss on Saturday was compounded by the defeat of its leader Peter Dutton, who was toppled at the end of dogged campaign by his successor — Labor's Ali France. The new member for the Brisbane seat of Dickson says she was told that the seat would be unwinnable until Mr Dutton retired. But on her third attempt the former journalist, mother and champion para-athlete has emerged as one of the biggest winners of this election campaign.
