Ep.4 Ameesha Bhudia | Gaining the strength and resilience of an MMA fighter.

In this episode, I'm with Powerlifter, Judo black belt, BJJ blue belt, former MMA fighter, Ameesha Bhudia. She now works as a martial arts coach - teaching children to defend themselves, manages a gym and is a personal trainer helping to empower women. Ameesha tells us all about how her fascination for Judo began and how this led to her competing, being entered into the boy’s category during a tournament in Paris and the struggles she's faced as a female fighter and as an Asian woman. Also sharing with us what goes through her mind and the mental techniques she uses in the ring and how these are applicable outside the ring. Going onto Ameesha's inspirational journey into powerlifting we talk about the 'mantra' she lives by taught to her by her mentor and how she uses this to lift extraordinary weights and how this mindset is transferred again in day-to-day living. She reflects on the learnings she's had as a MMA fighter and how this has helped her to become a better powerlifter, the physical changes that motherhood has brought and her plans for the future.
