132. Overcoming Perfectionism and Unrealistic Expectations with Andrea Fortenberry

I’ll be honest - I can set extremely high expectations for myself and try to be a perfectionist at times, and I bet I’m not the only one here. Most moms have these tendencies in their life - whether that’s cleanliness and organization, or trying to be a perfect mom to their kids, or trying to do their workouts perfectly.   The problem is that when we set these kinds of expectations, we usually fail to meet them. And we crash hard… getting discouraged and feeling like a full-blown failure.  My guest today knows something about all this. Andrea Fortenberry is the host of The Perfectionist’s Guide to Mothering podcast that equips moms to find freedom from perfectionism and to show up for the life God has for them.  We talk about the difference between receiving coaching versus criticism, chewing the meat and spitting out the bones (instead of choking on the bones), and leaning deep into what God expects from us as moms.  Andrea’s wisdom on this topic is GOLD. You’ll love this.  MORE RESOURCES:  DOORS OPEN THIS WEEK!
