010: 7 Steps to doing your own alterations

This week’s topic is one that I get asked about a lot and that is how to do your own clothing alterations. When people think about making their own clothes it’s natural to think that it is easiest to start by modifying something you already have rather than making from scratch. But in reality having to take apart and remake a garment can be more challenging that just making it from scratch. So in this episode I’m giving you some tips as to the type of alterations that are easiest to take on for beginners and those that might need more experience. We talk about what you need to know before you start doing your alterations and the many benefits of learning how to tackle some alteration projects yourself.I also give you my 7 step process to alterations to ensure that you end up with a professional finish.
