81: Don't Forget About Rapport

Whether we like it or not, a lot of older speech students don’t necessarily like to come to speech...    It is super common for older speech students to not be enthusiastic about coming to see us, so this is why it is so important to build rapport with our students.   We want our students to feel like they are in a warm and comfortable environment because then they are willing to take more risks, trust us and respect us.   This isn’t always easy to do, so I am covering how to build rapport with your older speech students while maintaining proper rules and boundaries with them in this episode!   I have been talking a lot lately about working with older speech students and how to keep them motivated, give them appropriate resources, and plan with ease and confidence, so make sure that you are listening to the rest of the episodes in this series!   Tune in to this episode to hear how I recommend building rapport with your students.
