Habits

In today's episode we'll consider the effects of habits.  Your habits are central to who you are.  Studies show that up to 50% of what you do daily is by habit.  These are things you do without really making a conscious decision about it; it's just what you do.  In this context the term for habits is routines.  Other terms for habits you could use are rituals or behaviors.  You probably do a lot of things every day just by habit, without really giving it much thought. It's important for you to take the time to evaluate your habits.  I'm not talking about those little mundane things you do by habit like putting your socks on.  I'm talking about the bigger things you do that are either helping you be more successful, or are causing you problems. A simple habit in this context might be not remembering someone's name right after you've been introduced to them.  Changing that habit with conscious effort can be a major boost to your long-term success.
