EP 38: Reflections of School Leadership, Sacredness and Teaching for Humanity w/Principal Naim Sanders

Welcome to the Equity Experience Podcast!  In episode #38, we have an authentic and transparent conversation with Principal Naim Sanders, who has served in the field of education as an elementary school teacher, school principal and a curriculum developer for 19 years. Sanders is also the author of The Beautiful Struggles of Teaching and A Sacred Place for Learning: Teaching, Leading and Culture. In this conversation, we discuss the idea of creating a sacred environment for students and how to be a life-changing educator. Highlights from this podcast: Sacredness is a holy ground, a special place. Schools are a worthy place to be known as a sacred place. How can educators create sacred learning environments for students, regardless of their race, ethnicity, language, religion, or socioeconomic status?  With every decision making, you can never lose your humanity. Serving humanity is the common goal. How can we embrace the concept of “soul work” of teaching for the soul, especially in public places? Every teacher has a gift to share with their students and vice versa; the importance of having an “exchange” in our relationship with our students. More about Mr. Naim Sanders Mr. Naim Q.
