Transhumanism is ‘the theory that the human race can evolve beyond its current physical and mental limitations, especially by means of science and technology’. So, will robotics and AI technology eliminate the need for a human body? And is that something Christians should embrace or resist? Micah Redding, founder of the Christian Transhumanist Association believes Christian shouldn’t fear Transhumanism and should be ready to shape the future of technology through a Christian worldview. Nigel Cameron, author of ‘The Robots Are Coming: Us, Them and God’ is sceptical of the Transhumanist project, believing that the incarnation of Christ is fundamentally tied to human embodiment.
