Toby Walsh: The end of the world (as we know it)

By 2062, experts estimate that we will have created machines as intelligent as humans. According to leading artificial intelligence researcher, Toby Walsh, this will mean the end of equality, the end of politics, the end of the West and maybe, the end of us. Is this the end of everything – or a new beginning? Chaired by Lyria Bennett Moses, Associate Professor and Director of the Allens Hub for Technology, Law and Innovation, UNSW Sydney. This talk is part of the UNSW Grand Challenge on Living with 21st Century Technology, and was recorded live on stage at the Festival of Dangerous Ideas 2018.
