Michael has won many awards for his achievements in sports as well as his work inspiring Indigenous youth. He is the founder of the international campaign - Boys With Braids - celebrating Indigenous boys and their hair. He wanted to help educate people about the cultural significance of Indigenous men and boys who wear their hair in braids.
