March 25, 1966 the Beatles went into Robert Whitaker's studio for a most unusual photo session. By the end of the afternoon, the photographs that would become "a somnambulent adventure" were complete. Through the intervention of Alan Livingston, John Lennon, Brian Epstein, and Ron Tepper, with six months, one of these images would soon become one of the most infamous record album covers in rock history.
