Jesus warns us against abuses of authority and the use of power for personal gain. Leadership in the Church demands a spirit of radical service and the renunciation of all personal gain. Blessed Dominic Barberi, a great apostle of England in the 19th century, lived this out and for this reason was such a convincing witness, including receiving into the Catholic Church John Henry Newman, himself a future saint.
