Episode 184: Fix Your Dopamine Deficit

All of us want to be happier. But that’s actually part of the problem. Our constant desire for happiness, pleasure, ease, and contentment and our easy-access to dopamine-triggering activities and substances is causing most of us to end up in a dopamine deficit. This means that the more we pursue pleasure, the more pain we end up feeling.  In today’s podcast episode, I explain how your brain’s dopamine response works and how our pleasure is directly related to our pain. I’ll show you how trying to avoid the painful part of our lives is throwing us out of balance and causing our brain to down regulate the amount of dopamine it creates, leaving us with depression, anxiety, and even withdrawal symptoms. If we want to create more lasting happiness in our lives we need to consider intentionally reducing how much pleasure we have and purposefully increasing the amount of discomfort we experience so that we can heal our brain’s dopamine deficit.  https://www.aprilpricecoaching.com/fix-your-dopamine-deficit To register for the FROM DREAM TO DONE Event go to: www.aprilpricecoaching.com/dream
