100% Ska Episode 309 – Requiem for a Supernova

Your weekly dose of a ska DJ trying to emulate your favorite old college radio show. Always 100% ska, always mostly 100% vinyl, and always getting buzzed on Jamaican rum while recording! This week’s episode is the Requiem for a Supernova, as we fully accept the postponement of the Supernova International Ska Fest to 2021, and play music from the bands that were scheduled for 2020 and now appear to all be scheduled for 2021. This episode is also dedicated to Erick “Fingers” Morgan, who passed away yesterday. Erick was the keyboardist and one of the founding members of The Skunks, who were also scheduled to reunite to perform at Supernova. Om Podcasten

DJ Ryan Midnight hosts the weekly all-vinyl podcast 100% Ska, playing a selection of cuts across the genre's spectrum and history. You'll hear an emphasis on current ska bands carrying the checkered banner including plenty of new releases, along with 2-Tone era and 3rd Wave classics and rarities, original Jamaican 60s and everything in between. Some episodes will feature interviews with bands, with the rare episode segueing into Ryan's non-ska guilty pleasures. When not hosting the podcast, Ryan Midnight can be found livestreaming ska sets, spinning locally in NYC, supporting live musicians, and producing the Subway to Skaville series.
