Atlanta police have charged a suspect in the spa shootings, which comes amid a wave of violence against Asian Americans, spurred in part by racist and xenophobic rhetoric surrounding the pandemic. But the suspect claims the shootings were motived by his self-described sexual addiction. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization reports that about one in three women, globally, have faced physical or sexual violence at least once in their lives.
