Episode #6:To Suffer With...You

Summary: On this episode of the ACT to Live podcast, Jaime shares her experiences with the repatriation process (after spending two years living abroad) and how her observations, judgments, and internal dialogue lead her to stumble upon the concept of self-compassion. Scott and Jaime talk about what the concepts of compassion and self-compassion mean to them. The duo then delves into the three components of self-compassion - self-kindness vs. self-judgement; common humanity vs. isolation; and, mindfulness vs. over identification.  ACTion Question/Event of the Week: We’re going with an ACTion Event this week - straight out of Kristin Neff’s book. We’re challenging you to try giving yourself a hug or imagining giving yourself a hug during a challenging time. What did you observe during this process? On our next episode of ACT to Live, we explore our uniquenesses and imperfections.
