The Tragic Loss of Lazar Đukić at the '24 CrossFit Games and a Call for Change

Lazar Ðukić died during the CrossFit Games. It was a tragedy that follows a history of negligence on behalf of CrossFit, and Alex and Meredith sit down to reflect back on their experience as CrossFit athletes as well as previous occurences where athletes put their lives on the lines for points. They delve into the emotional impact on the community, safety concerns, and the controversial decision to continue the games. This episode not only honors Lazar by shining a light on the way he passed away, but also advocating for change so no other athlete or family member has to suffer such a loss. If you were moved by Lazar’s death, Alex and Meredith share how to best cause a disruption in CrossFit including writing directly to brands and sponsors to hold accountability by threatening their bottom line. Om Podcasten

Alex & Meredith are nutrition and fitness coaches and owners of Tactic Nutrition, sure. But this podcast is so much more than that. They are also no-bs straight shooters who want to take out the trash of the health and fitness business, one macro at a time. So yes they will talk workouts, weight training, cardio/endurance, and eating and meal plans. But they will also talk about how the health and wellness space has been affected by social media. What its like to be a competitive athlete with your own spouse but you also own a business together. And maybe occasionally why getting a cat before getting a dog was a good idea and how there is very little good lesbian tv content out there. So join them and the Tactic Nutrition team each week for new episodes right here on Afternoon Snack!
