#134 // Dapper Laughs (aka Daniel O'Reilly)

Daniel O’Reilly is a controversial comedian and entrepreneur. He survived a period of tabloid (& Newsnight) hysteria having been ultimately torn down in a hurricane of (what today I suppose we would call) “Cancel Culture” vs his laddish persona "Dapper Laughs". Nowadays he’s got two daughters and is married to a headstrong feminist. Tonight we discussed what happened (almost) ten years ago, his return to standup - and most importantly: his pivot to Mental Health campaigning. Are you still reading this? Then say hello to me on: Twitter  Tiktok Insta YouTube Honestly, it is the biggest kick when people are enjoying the podcast and - even if they’re not normally the sort of people who share every thought and feeling online - if they take a minute to say hello or call me a twunt. Om Podcasten

My name is Aid. I used to do Standup. Then I had two kids. The End. Between parenthood and the pandemic, I'm finding pretty much the only way to have a social interaction with people is to literally *book in a conversation with them* (and market it as a podcast). Every guest is going to be real upset when they realise I'm not even recording them, i'm just incredibly lonely.
