Effects of Repeated Head Trauma in the NFL

This month's AISTS Sports Medicine podcast, presented by Gustavo Garrido and Zhen Ma looks more in-depth into the effects of repeated head traumas with NLF players. The studies about the effects of repeated head trauma on American football players are rather new. A study completed in 2007 concluded that “professional football players with a history of three of more concussions are in a greater risk for having depressive episodes later in life compared with those players with no history of concussions.” This podcast will take a deep dive into this research and more and also speak more on Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).
