Tom Foley joined MWABA in 2021 after moving to the district. A long time blind stoker from Northern California, Tom rode with Team Alameda in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has completed multiple centuries and particularly abhors steep inclines and strong headwinds! Since joining MWABA, he has ridden in the 50 States Ride and the Great Pumpkin Ride. He regularly participates in the Bethesda evening ride and has enjoyed learning about all the great cycling trails and opportunities throughout the DMV.Shira Gordon became a tandem captain with the Metro Washington Association of Blind Athletes (MWABA) in 2017 and became a board member in 2020. She has ridden with over twenty blind stokers and has trained new captains and stokers.
