Chapter 44 - Third Year - Hogsmeade
The marauders embark on their first Hogsmeade trip, visiting Honeydukes and Zonko's before heading to the Shrieking Shack. Remus is horrified to discover that the "haunted" house where locals hear screaming is actually where he transforms each month, realizing his werewolf cries have become local legend. At the Three Broomsticks, they enjoy butterbeer until Snape provokes Sirius by revealing he's been disowned by his family and calling the marauders "dregs of society." Though Sirius shows restraint in the moment, he declares war on Snape as they leave, setting up future conflict.
