Jakob Nowell of Sublime
On this week's episode of Artist Friendly, Joel Madden is joined by Jakob Nowell of Sublime. After disbanding in 1996, Long Beach ska veterans Sublime reunited at this year’s Coachella — with Nowell filling in for his late father, Bradley. Between honoring his father’s legacy and creating his own futuristic songs as Jakobs Castle, Nowell has proved that he’s a talented musician who’s determined to keep rock ’n’ roll a family affair. He’s played a handful of shows in support of this year’s debut album, Enter: The Castle, has plans to revive old Sublime compositions, and gets into a nearly hour-long chat with Madden about his whirlwind year.
