How to Introduce Allergenic Foods to Your Baby

#11: How do you introduce allergenic foods to your baby? And what if your baby has a reaction to food? Giving potentially allergenic foods to babies may sound scary, but it’s actually easy to do and may help prevent food allergy down the road.

 

In this episode we will look at current research and guidance for the early introduction of potentially allergenic foods and why serving baby cow’s milk, peanut and egg make the most sense to start with. I also explain what to look out for if your baby is having an allergic reaction and what to do if your baby has a reaction to food. 

 

I’ll introduce you to the Big 8 allergenic foods (...the 8 foods that account for 90% of food allergy) and I explain a recommended sequence for introducing new foods to your baby that will allow you to introduce all 8 of these foods SAFELY within the first 2 months of starting solid foods with baby led weaning.
