The Real Costs of Transitioning

From hysterectomies to name changes to clothing to voice training to top surgery, welcome to our Costs of Transitioning episode! We hear an email about IUDs and gender dysphoria, a voicemail from Lou about their hysterectomy, the concept of "boy juice," insurance snafus that cost thousands of dollars, and financing transition before online resources were available. Wedge pillows, jade rollers, scar cream, copays and all the other small tidbits needed to recover from surgery -- with specific numbers! And finally, Gaby responds to criticism of them saying they were "getting rid of their girl clothes." Plus, we heard almost exclusively from transmasculine and AFAB people for this episode, which was great, but Gaby wants to do part 2 with more stories and advice from trans women and transfeminine people! Write in! The more info shared amongst ourselves the better.  tw: transphobia, medical procedures For a full transcript, visit: https://bit.ly/3rzPAdE Gaby Dunn Instagram: @GabyRoad BWM Instagram: @bwmpod BWM Facebook group: http://tinyurl.com/badwithmoneyfb The BWM Discord channel: https://discord.gg/dAdxj4JMER Find Gaby on Patreon: patreon.com/gabydunn Shop gabydunn.com/shop for merch!
