#48: Tell Your Story with Brian Scudamore
Today on the show we’re talking to Brian Scudamore, the founder and CEO of O2E brands, the parent company of 1-800 Got Junk, Wow One Day Painting, and Shack Shine. He also wrote a book, WTF?! (Willing to Fail): How Failure Can Be Your Key to Success, talking about his story of how he came from small beginnings to owning several companies. As a kid Brian moved from school to school, having to make new friends, learn the environment, and adapt. Brian thinks that had a big impact on becoming an entrepreneur. He had to learn to overcome those obstacles, meet new people, and create new relationships. Brian talks about how he needed to make failures in order to get to where he is today, he mentions a time, early in 1-800-GOT-JUNK’s life that he had to fire 11 people at once because they weren’t good fits for his image of the company. He doesn’t regret any of it because without those mistakes, he wouldn’t be where his today, with the lessons he’s learned from them.
