João Franco, from Below Deck Med, steps Behind The Rope. Checking in from his home in South Africa, birds chirping in the background, João stops by to fill us in on everything he has been up to since we last saw him on our TV sets and chat all things about two of Bravo’s highest rated shows, Below Deck Med and Below Deck. João explains how, although he was authentically himself, many of his cast mates and Below Deck Med Veterans ’tried” to make a TV show and were all too aware of their images and cameras. Veterans? Well that can only mean two people - Captain Sandy and Hannah Ferrier. Do tell? On that note, let us not forget João was at BravoCon with Colin Macy O’Toole, The Captains Sandy and Lee and Kate Chastain. We discuss BravoCon in detail and why there were some bumps in the road there between João and the rest of the gang. Now that João is a Captain of his own, he chats about whether, as seen on last seasons Below Deck Med, Malia was required to report Hannah’s Valium and discusses how he himself interprets Maritime Law in regards to bringing prescription mediation on board a vessel. Speaking of Hannah Ferrier, we discuss his current thoughts on Hannah and the status of their relationship today. João also opens up about his time filming with Captain Sandy, the ups and down in their relationship since filming, how social media has led to some of the “downs” in that relationship and how BravoCon led to a strange interaction between the two. João also gives us the real deal, holding nothing back, about just how accurate is Below Deck Med when compared to the Real World Yachting Industry and discusses which is more difficult, a Below Deck Charter or a Real World Charter.
