Unconscious is the central concept of various psychoanalytic approaches (and even most of cognitive psychology). While descriptions of the unconscious existed before psychoanalysis, the idea of dynamic unconscious, which constantly influences our conscious choices, decisions, and attitudes, has given rise to a new science and practice.
