Between Diapers and Deadlines - Episode 1: Gotta Start Somewhere

Welcome! This is it! The first episode of Between Diapers and Deadlines. Cohosted by husband and wife artists and parents, Brett Bean and Julie Bean, and featuring interviews with other artist parents. This podcast explores the joys, challenges, truths, complexities, and pure madness of being an artist and raising kids.  How do you stay creative? Manage your time? Keep your artistic dreams? Still like your significant other? All of this and more will be explored in the coming episodes.

This first episode is an intro to who the hosts are. Brett Bean is a character designer/concept artist/author/illustrator. He has worked for numerous animation studios and video game companies as well as having designed puppets for Jim Henson's Creature Shop. His graphic novel Zoo Patrol Squad will be available everywhere July 7th, 2020. You can learn more about him at brettbean.com. Julie Bean is a jewelry designer who spent many years as senior designer managing the design department for a jewelry supply company before making the choice to stay home with their young children (6 years and 15 months).  Together they live in Los Angeles, California.

Feel free to send us your questions! We would love to hear from you! Being an artist in not an easy path and then juggling that with kids is "interesting" to say the least......
