Ep 057: [Spring(back) Series] why now is your time to shine, with Anna Baréz-Brown

Anna co-founded a company called Shine. And, like it says on the tin, it helps people - women in particular - shine, and she has plenty of tips here to help us do that. She makes a compelling case for why now, coming out of the pandemic, is the perfect time to step into the light. The name 'Shine' reminds me of the brilliant Marianne Williamson quote that: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?" Anna has made it her mission to support, embolden and ask other women 'who are you not to shine?'. I was lucky enough to attend one of Shine's courses in her beautiful home in Lyme Regis and it was such a great experience; when you bring women together in a non-judgmental, encouraging, creative environment, it's magic, not to mention loads of fun. Shine helped me plant many of the ideas for what I’m doing with this podcast now, which just goes to show how important it is we take the time to invest in ourselves and think about what really matters to us. Anna has loads of great advice on how to start this process in this pod - take a listen and, more importantly, take some action! Om Podcasten

Big Juicy Creative is the show which nurtures your busy creative soul, so you thrive personally and professionally. You could be in a ‘creative’ career, like marketing or the arts, or maybe you wish you did something more creative. This podcast will show you how, if you approach your life with creativity – a bit more openness, curiosity, self-expression, imagination - it will become bigger, juicier and more meaningful. Creativity is about way more than painting or poetry, and this show brings you inspirational tales from beyond the creative department, from farming to fractions. Your host, Suzy Bashford, is a freelance journalist, who writes about creativity among other things, a workshop facilitator and a speaker. As well as interviews, she’ll bring you shorter, solo podcasts where she sums up and test-drives the advice she’s given, reporting back to you with her trademark honesty. Suzy is a mum on a mission to unleash our collective creativity so we can solve the world’s big problems… and we need buckets of creativity for that, so please get listening!
