Chris Mahony | Go RVing Canada - The Intersection Between RVing and Biking

In this episode of the Bikepack Adventures Podcast, I've had the chance to connect with Chris Mahoney, President of Go RVing Canada, a not for profit focused on promoting the RV lifestyle. After an initial discussion, we thought this could be a really interesting podcast, as both the bikepacking and RVing lifestyles are centred around exploration and spending time in nature. Through our discussion, I learned that Chris is a long-time mountain biker that likes to bring his bikes along when going RVing in the summers. He's also a keen bike adventurer and we spent a bit of time talking about some of his past and upcoming bike adventures. More specifically, throughout this conversation, Chris and I spoke about how RVs can be a great catalyst for bikepacking adventures, some amazing bicycle destinations accessible by RV, the benefits to taking up the RV lifestyle, what some common misconceptions about RVing are, and of course, affordability and how they compare to other types of holidays. We also talked about the rise in popularity of the camper van and how more and more young people are attracted to the RV lifestyle, particularly with more and more people choosing jobs that allow them to work remotely. Om Podcasten

I am a traveler, cyclist, expat and teacher with over 15 years experience living abroad in six different countries. As a passionate cyclist I have seen the world by bike and has toured in some truly amazing places, such as Sweden, Germany, Japan, most of SE Asia and of course Canada. During that time, I have traveled to over 40+ countries and met countless travelers, cyclists, and other expats. While traveling by bike, I decided that I wanted to connect the touring and bikepacking community together and this became the catalyst of the Bike Tour Adventures podcast where I share my guests fascinating stories and helps listeners learn tips, tricks, and techniques to improve their touring and bikepacking experience. As it's not possible to always bike tour, I have recently dove headfirst into the bikepacking world with the intent of getting out into nature and spending as much time on my bike as possible. This has re-ignited my passion around bikes and has opened up the podcast to so many more possibilities with interviews of traditional bike tourers, bikepackers, endurance athletes and more. I hope you enjoy the show. Keep on pedalling!
