The Beautiful Beginnings of Bitcoin Beach in El Zonte w/ Jorge and Chimbera
I recently made a trip down to El Zonte, El Salvador, to see and experience what has become a famous town for its broad use of bitcoin, and the impetus for El Salvador's new Bitcoin legal tender law. I met Jorge and Chimbera at Hope House, a home base for charitable work they have been doing in the area, and a work space for bitcoin-related projects. They told me that they exercise every morning at 6am, so I asked if I could join them. For the next 4 days we got up early, went on tough jungle runs, ocean swims, and just generally enjoyed hanging out with each other in the beautiful surroundings. I became friends with them, saw what kind of people they were, and thought it would be fun to jam on a pod and get more of the real story behind all the recent hype.
