Chill & Chat

Chill & Chat Kristen Strickland U.S. History Teacher, Middle School “Do what’s right… not what’s popular.” New Teacher Mentor, Cheerleading Coach and History Teacher Kristen  Strickland walks us through her educational journey, and how a volunteer opportunity confirmed her calling into the classroom. As an educator, Ms. Strickland advocates for families, coaches new teachers, and creates space for students to have a voice about social issues and current events. We are discussing the joys of attending an HBCU (There’s got to be other Black people in the world like me!”, blessings and challenges with parent engagement (a paddlin”???), and unpacking a bit of Texas curriculum. Join us as we Chill and Chat, and become inspired to do better.
