"What can I do for the rest of my life that's going to bring me happiness, make me money, and keep me sane?" - Jayinex, Be Creative While Building Community, www.jayinex.com "The best way to combat the system... is to build your own system." Heavily influenced by the University of H.I.P. H.O.P. through his English teacher, Mr. Corey Jenkins reflects on his journey as an educator. We discuss being bussed across Chicago for elementary school, combating racism in high school, facing major disappointments in college, and how his dark moments have allowed him to connect his gift to the classroom. We learn about the culture of street art, the power of Black male mentorship, S.T.E.A.M. and how Mr. Jenkins transforms into his entrepreneurial alter ego @Jayinex, being creative while building community.
