Detectives and Poets do the same job

We crave mystery in a world where there are more answers than questions. Detectives solve mysteries. Poets deepen the mystery. But they both operate on a similar plane. A poem is really a dossier of clues that take you right up to the door of a starless black night, and at that point you have to give yourself over to something vast and unresolved.
