Bside Incoming: Aman Po - Kaifu

Bside Incoming: Aman Po - Kaifu A Bside brought to us by the mysterious man of Moscow, renowned in Russia as a serious purveyor of all things exotic, an adventurer returning from the orient with strange and scintillating sounds. We welcome Aman Po-Kaifu. His passion for music and thirst for knowledge run deep, as founder of a record label, party series promoter, and editor of the VK music blog (https://vk.com/opium.persia). He’s the entrepreneurial DJ-producer who founded JAZZVE, a record label that explores vibration and groove, and showcases some of the very talented artists of Moscow (https://soundcloud.com/tunesbymates). But it’s his Opium Underground events that have defined Aman’s style, pushing him to explore the Arab world and oriental archives in pursuit of new and exciting disco melodies and mesmerising beats. And so, Aman will guide us through the very best from the Bside of his carefully curated collection. Expect disco heat from the east, African rhythms and grooves, and Arabian baselines. Broken beats, euphoric energy, and the distinctive Opium Underground style of Aman Po-Kaifu. Big love to Aman for recording! - https://soundcloud.com/po-kaifu / Follow Aman Po - Kaifu's instagram - https://www.instagram.com/aman_po_kaifu/ His Label - https://www.instagram.com/tunesbymates/ His Opium Underground - https://www.instagram.com/opium.underground/ Thanks to Molly Hickey for the beautiful artwork as always. www.instagram.com/mollyth.art/ Follow the Bside instagram for updates/news/vinyl and general music chat - www.instagram.com/bsidepodcasts/

Om Podcasten

Bside podcasts DJ's showcase and speak a little about their favourite tracks from the B-side of their records. We endeavour to broadcast the best of the B-side: a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between. Music is for sharing. 'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
