Bside Incoming: Saltywax

For this week’s episode of the Bside podcast we welcome a German producer, DJ, and avid record collector by the name of Saltywax. We came into contact with Nico aka @sltwx as a fan of the show and a fellow music enthusiast, we love his desire to tell a story through music and his episode of the Bside podcast proved a perfect platform for him to do so. He’s been playing records and producing his own music for 6 years, releasing on such labels Too Slow To Disco, a sub-label of City Slang, the Basement Discos, Random Mind State and Legofunk Records. And with his incredible new release ‘Keep Dancing’ via Zissou Records catching our attention, we’ll keep a keen eye on his future movements too. With an epic episode spanning two hours, Saltywax moves through every genres and musical mood in his collection; Ambient , italo funk, disco, soul, jazz, techno, percussive rhythms, dancey beats, electro synths and almost anything in between!

Om Podcasten

Bside podcasts DJ's showcase and speak a little about their favourite tracks from the B-side of their records. We endeavour to broadcast the best of the B-side: a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between. Music is for sharing. 'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
