Bside Incoming: Sampology

Bside Incoming: Sampology Monthly radio host on the ever impressive WorldWideFM, purveyor of great music, a richly creative producer, and now the boss of his very own Middle Name Records… we gladly present you one of Brisbane’s very best… Sampology. Bursting through into the musical limelight with the release of his highly acclaimed Mt. Glorious EP in 2018, Samplogy’s has declared himself to be up there with the best in Australia’s thriving scene. He followed this success up with a collaborative project intended as a one off, but such a triumph was the release and its subsequent tour that Middle Name Dance Band have released a second volume this spring. Rather than starting afresh under a new name, the project continues under its original title but injected with a new lease of life with the introduction of new artists to aid Sampology in his journey to create new and exciting music. Certainly worth a listen if your enjoying Sampology’s Bside Incoming episode… grab yourself a copy on bandcamp: https://middlenamedanceband.bandcamp.com/album/middle-name-dance-tracks-vol-2 This episode is an exploration of the broken beat and percussive house rhythms that he has become so renowned for, not limiting himself to genre yet never straying too far from his own authentic sound. Soul, house, dub, breakbeat, and plenty of funky sunny beats from the Brisbane man. We can almost feel that Southern Hemisphere summer parting our wintery overcast as the good times break through! Enjoy! Om Podcasten

Bside podcasts DJ's showcase and speak a little about their favourite tracks from the B-side of their records. We endeavour to broadcast the best of the B-side: a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between. Music is for sharing. 'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
