Bside Incoming: Wes Baggaley

Bside Incoming: Wes Baggaley This one comes from Wigan’s finest, a DJ at the beating heart of queer clubbing, a Bside purist, and a man capable of evoking a moustache envy in any of us. Wes Baggaley. He’s long been held in high regard by the gay scene of both Manchester and London for his exceptional taste and technicality at the turntables. His 2017 Boiler Room appearance brought him the wider notoriety he deserves and he has since toured many of Europe’s hottest spots. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXhraJlRp0k Famed for his sets at Glastonbury’s Block9 (Gideon Berger’s House and Techno Utopia) and his Bottom Heavy residency with Dan Beaumont at the Dalston Superstore where he displays his scintillating style of 4/4 Dance Music that never fails to energise. This episode of Bside will offer a deviation from the music Wes has built a reputation around, and rather take a trip down memory lane with the music that made him: New Wave, Indie Rock, Ska, EXTREME Metal, with a consistent streak of Punk. Om Podcasten

Bside podcasts DJ's showcase and speak a little about their favourite tracks from the B-side of their records. We endeavour to broadcast the best of the B-side: a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between. Music is for sharing. 'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
