Bside Live: Scarlett O'Malley

Bside Live: Scarlett O'Malley A few weeks back we were real humbled to record a live show in one of London's collest bars - Jumbi, our 181st show with our guest Scarlett O’Malley. The vibes, tunes and people were perfect, Scarlett O'Malley let us in for a real treat. She's a multifaceted creative hailing from the vibrant scene of West London who wears many hats in the world of music and media. As a selector, DJ, radio presenter, podcaster, and journalist, Scarlett's passion for soul music is not only evident in her diverse DJ sets but also reflected in her role as the founder and visionary behind the soulful imprint, 'The Soul Exchange.' Delving into an eclectic range of genres, Scarlett spins soul, house, disco, and Latin, curating an auditory journey that spans eras and captivates audiences. Her musical explorations have taken her from the iconic Pikes in Ibiza to the lively streets of Dublin, and on a DJ tour that left its mark in Boston, New York, and the soulful enclave of New Orleans. Om Podcasten

Bside podcasts DJ's showcase and speak a little about their favourite tracks from the B-side of their records. We endeavour to broadcast the best of the B-side: a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between. Music is for sharing. 'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
