Ep. 16 Rhys Gray & Matt Cory

After a string of mixes from international DJs, (Gnork, Bobby Analog & Hidden Spheres) it was time to return to some Scottish talent. For Ep. 16 we invited the Glaswegian duo - Rhys & Matt. As always on Bside, the DJs were only allowed to play the B-Side of their favourite records. Having only recently started integrating a CDJ into their sets, the pair have an extensive record collection. They take us on a smooth trip, showcasing some of their favourite wax. The mix starts with some breaks & spacey chords, then progresses into some extraterrestrial house sounds, and finishes with some club equip techno. Rhys & Matt both are heavily involved with @subclub, both in promotions and DJing. Recently Matt was in charge of setting the tone for Harri & Dom, as well as Model 500 for Subculture. They also have a weekly residency at Mr Wu’s Disco Kitchen, where the recording took place. Big thanks to Molly Hickey for the artwork. Om Podcasten

Bside podcasts DJ's showcase and speak a little about their favourite tracks from the B-side of their records. We endeavour to broadcast the best of the B-side: a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between. Music is for sharing. 'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
