Ep. 22 Dansa & Provost (Palidrone)

Watch the video of DJs spinning the records (and all previous live recordings) on Facebook, and follow to keep up with Bside news - www.facebook.com/BsidePodcasts/ After the last few soulful selections, we’re glad to bring you a dark and electronic focused edition as the winter nights draw in. Dansa & Provost (2 core residents from Palidrone) bring some buzz. Travelling from 90s hardcore house, via tasty breakbeats, all the way to a deep techno throb before our final stop at euphoric chaos. We are very pleased to present the show on Palidrone's 2nd birthday! Palidrone have cemented themselves as a key component of the Edinburgh scene, injecting a much needed dose of all things weighty and guaranteeing an emphatic explosion of energy. They have recently appeared at Sneaky Petes as part of the ever impressive Wednesday night residency Heaters. Whilst also bringing some of the worlds most cutting edge artists to Scotland’s capital: DMX Krew, Giant Swan, and SPFDJ B2B VTSS. Today they just released their next party with DJ Stingray + Solid Blake which will be held in February - https://www.facebook.com/events/1407962662686150/ Shout out to our Molly Hickey for providing the artwork, we are ever grateful. Om Podcasten

Bside podcasts DJ's showcase and speak a little about their favourite tracks from the B-side of their records. We endeavour to broadcast the best of the B-side: a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors. An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between. Music is for sharing. 'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
